InnOBreed and LiveSeeding have launched a joint survey to collect input on legal and policy aspects affecting plant breeding, evaluation and multiplication in organic fruit production.
The survey targets professionals and stakeholders active in fruit genetics, including conservation, breeding and multiplication, and aims to gather practical experiences, perceptions and recommendations related to regulatory factors that influence innovation in the organic fruit sector.
Focus of the survey and expected outcomes
Current regulatory frameworks play a crucial role in shaping how organic fruit breeding develops across Europe. Through this joint initiative, InnOBreed and LiveSeeding seek to better understand how existing rules are perceived and applied in practice, and where barriers or gaps may exist.
The information collected will help to:
- identify key challenges and areas for improvement in current regulatory frameworks;
- provide evidence-based insights and recommendations to support the work of the European Commission and other policy makers;
- contribute to the development of policies that are better aligned with the needs of organic fruit breeding and participatory innovation.
The survey is available in English, French, German and Italian and is open to all relevant professionals and stakeholders working in or closely linked to organic fruit breeding and seed systems.
Deadline for participation: 3 March 2026
All interested stakeholders are kindly invited to participate in the survey and to share it with their professional networks.
By contributing, participants support the development of more effective, inclusive and practice-oriented European policies for the future of organic fruit production.
